Hi Cloudstrife! I really don't understand how, if the govn't touches your gun or meddles in the economy, that is evil but when it intervenes in the most intimate part of a human being that is good. The people who are so concerned with the sanctity of human life should begin by taken of those who are clearly and without contest human beings: children should be given quality education and people given decent health care. I'm not especially fond of abortion but this is definitely a place where the gov't should butt out. Retrograde law ...

Yes, it would involve controlling, in a sense, something very personal to a woman, but don't we control many things in order to protect the rights of others? A person can spend their life in prison, have their children taken away, or be strip searched in order to protect others. In the case of abortion, however, there is no invasion of privacy or active physical control. Restricting abortion is passive.

Also, I agree that there are many problems in our society that negatively affect children, however, that doesn't mean we have to pick and choose what is worth fighting for at the moment. Even if there were such circumstances, the problem involving loss of life would take precedent for me.

Also (hoping for the last time in the string of posts), meddling in the economy isn't evil. It's just stupid. Taking away our guns because you think they cause murders isn't evil. It's just stupid. History and statistics have shown this.
