    CATS Vs. Paradigms

    Post  ch46eseaknight on March 1st 2010, 4:45 pm

Well I took the cover off my Paradigms Monitor 7's V.2 the other day because it looked like the cloth was sagging and coming off. As I took a glance at the drivers, I noticed a few tears in the surround of the drivers!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad Three of the four 6.5's were damaged. So it looks like the cat climbed up the front of the grills and got her claw into it!

So now I'm in the market for replacements. Paradigm wants $80.00 each, and I don't want to just replace 3 of them. Would like a matching set on each speaker. Two are damaged on one, and one on the other speaker. I just put new tweeter diaphragms in a year or so ago.

Just not sure if they are worth $160.00+S/H to fix.

Sounds like a good reason to start building my own with Focal drivers.

    Any thoughts?

Focals are great and so are ScanSpeak-Seas. You might visit a DIY forum and see if anyone is selling what you need...

Time to pack the cat's bags.....
